We’ve designed this event in the spirit of the warming and hopeful words of an Imvrosian musician called Timoleon, who says, “Life is short; we need love, we need music”.
Music is a huge part of our festival, bringing together artists, performers and singers to share stories and culture with the audience through songs and dance.
Founded in 2018 in Izmir, Agora Minör is a passionate group committed to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of Rebetiko. Their profound fascination with this iconic genre has driven them to conduct extensive research and create mesmerising performances, complemented by enlightening presentations on Rebetiko’s history and captivating stories.
With a narrative-driven approach, Agora Minör enthralls audiences during their concerts in various cities, including Istanbul, Ankara, Muğla, and Manisa, by presenting the Anatolian music tradition within the realm of Rebetiko. Their diverse repertoire encompasses the birth of Rebetiko in Izmir, its evolution in Piraeus and America, and contemporary interpretations, providing a journey through the heart and soul of this genre.

Founded in 2015 in Turkey, Deli Reçel is a dynamic musical band that finds its artistic home under the banner of Balfolk İstanbul, Turkey’s pioneer Balfolk dance group. While staying true to the standard Balfolk repertoire, featuring enchanting dances like Scottish, Mazurka, Polka, Circassian circle, and Bouree, Deli Reçel’s creative spirit extends beyond borders.
With an unwavering passion for music, they embrace the rich traditions of the Balkans and Eastern Europe, infusing their performances with captivating melodies from various regions. Deli Reçel’s unique sound bridges cultures, inviting audiences on an exhilarating journey through the diverse tapestry of folk music.
Ezgi Tekin is a talented musician and a graduate of Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, specialising in Composition. Seeking alternative ways to express her musical artistry beyond the academic realm, she ventured into various genres and areas. She has a passion for diverse instruments, including piano, violin, acoustic guitar, ukulele, lyre harp, and curabab. Through her performances, she beautifully captures the essence of Greek and Sephardic melodies, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of her hometown, İzmir. Ezgi Tekin’s musical journey is a mesmerising fusion of talent and cultural appreciation.
The Imvros Ensemble emerged organically during casual gatherings in the serene garden of local musician Timoleon Çaknis on the enchanting Imvros Island. This group of talented musicians passionately presents the authentic local songs of Imvros and its neighboring islands, preserving their cultural heritage. The songs they perform have been cherished over time, mainly through the heartfelt narration of Timoleon Çaknis.
The ensemble comprises skilled musicians, including Timoleon Çaknis on the violin, Kemal Yazgan on the lute, Şenol Aktürk on the guitar, Alihan Erdoğan on the classical guitar, and the captivating vocals of Ezgi Ceylan. Together, they invite all enthusiasts of Imvros to join and expand this spontaneous “ensemble,” creating harmonious melodies that echo through the warm island evenings.

Peradi Ensemble is a harmonious and diverse music group comprising nine talented women based in Istanbul. Their passion for music knows no bounds, and they delight in singing songs in various languages, celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that weave the world together. As long as language continues to be a powerful means of expression, they will joyfully share the multilingual melodies.
The name “Peradi” holds special significance, as it derives from the Georgian word “peri,” meaning “color.” In this context, Peradi represents the beautiful blend of colors that each member brings to our collective harmony. Moreover, the “Pera” in their band name pays homage to their profound love for Istanbul, the city that has inspired them and nurtured their artistry.
Naranjaman, renowned for spinning old school sounds, embarked on his dynamic music journey in 2006 as a selecta with Nayah in Istanbul. His passion for reggae and captivating beats led him to work as a tonmeister at Nayah Music Club and various events in 2010. Throughout his career, he has been an integral part of exciting projects like Beton Orman, Nayah Sound System, Sirenfest, and Reggaezine.
After a three-year hiatus from music performances, Naranjaman rekindled the reggae flame on Imvros/Gökçeada in 2017. With a penchant for infusing the air with infectious reggae vibes, Naranjaman captivates audiences, transporting them to a realm of soulful rhythms and feel-good melodies.
With his unwavering dedication to reggae music, Naranjaman continues to leave an indelible mark on the music scene, igniting the spirit of reggae wherever his beats take him.
